Postgraduate programmes

We offer an exciting range of MSc and PhD/MPhil opportunities for postgraduate students. Delivered and supervised by subject-area experts, our postgraduate courses are informed directly by our research activity.

They are challenging, yet rewarding and  they will help you to develop your academic skills and improve your employability prospects.

The Financial Mathematics MSc programme enables graduates and professionals with a strong mathematical background with the knowledge they need to be able to enter into this exciting new area of applied mathematics and to position themselves for the opportunity to work in financial markets. The MSc course takes a year to complete and concludes with thesubmission of a dissertation. This course is combined with research-led teaching and strong links to the industry.

PhD programmes

Our PhD programme typically takes 3 years as a full-time student, and 6 years as a part-time student to complete. With the guidance and support of our academics, our PhD degree will give you the opportunity to complete an original research project and to make a contribution to mathematical research.

Alongside the traditional PhD programme, we also offer a four year PhD programme as part of the Brunel Integrated PhD initiative. The Brunel Integrated PhD allows you to participate in a tailor-made programme of taught modules to enhance your research and transferable skills. In addition to pursuing your research, during the first three years you’ll study a tailor-made programme of taught modules that will underpin your academic study and enhance your skills as a researcher.
