Brunel University presents the BAE Systems Spring Lecture on Open Innovation: "Unless we innovate new ways of doing business the UK economy will flounder".

James Baker, Managing Director of BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre, argues that to remain competitive the UK must be more resourceful and creative than ever before. This means understanding the need to look beyond the walls of our own companies and forge genuine and mutually beneficial relationships across industries, markets, SMEs and academia. Investing in innovation, applying bold new business models and thinking differently about manufacturing and services are all key to future innovation and growth.

The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:

  • Miles Adcock, Managing Director, Training Simulation Services, QinetiQ
  • Dr Sharon Baurley, Head of Design, Brunel University
  • Dr Paul Woollin, Director of Research, TWI
