As part of a new seminar series "celebrating the achievements and contributions of women and inspiring a new generation of neuroscientists", Women in Neuroscience presents three prominent female neuroscientists.

Prof Catherine Harmer

Catherine J Harmer is a Professor in Cognitive Psychology at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. She is internationally recognised for her research in understanding the psychological mechanisms through which antidepressants exert their therapeutic effects, and in her approach of integrating cognitive, biological and pharmacological mechanisms to further our understanding of normal and abnormal brain function. Professor Harmer was awarded the British Association for Psychopharmacology Pre-Clinical Scientist Prize, she acts as a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry and her research has largely been funded by the Medical Research Council.

The seminar series will be opened with an introduction from the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Julia Buckingham. Refreshments to follow the lectures.
