Brunel Art Centre prize-winners announced

The centre, which runs art classes open to the public is currently holding an exhibition, All Our Own Work 2008, at the University' s Beldam Gallery, on Cleveland Road. The show features a selection of the artwork by those who attend the classes, many of which are in the evenings and at weekends.

Morag Vangeyzel, of Pond Close, Harefield, who has been making jewellery out of glass and porcelain for three years at the Brunel Arts said: “I was ecstatic at winning a prize. It's the first time I've ever won anything. I was very excited.“

Morag is a member of the Harrow Artists at Home group. She is now turning what began as a hobby into a profession by selling her work.

Other prize-winners include: Pip Jacobs, Marianne Hill, Susan Frankel, Gwyneth MacDonald and a Brunel student, Sampa Mulenga.
