Brunel Summer Internship Programme (BSIP)

The Brunel Summer Internship Programme offers eligible students the opportunity to gain eight weeks paid work experience over their first summer break. This is open to all eligible home/UK first year undergraduates, from any course.

Please note that all internships must be completed in the UK. Internships abroad are not supported by this programme.

What is BSIP

The Brunel Summer Internship Programme is an employability focused project that offers a number of paid internships for 8 weeks during the summer of 2024 for eligible first year undergraduate students (please note that this does not include students in their foundation year). The programme is funded by Brunel University London through their commitment to the Office for Students. 

As a student on the programme, you will be given advice and guidance in a variety of employment related matters, this includes; how to write a CV and cover letter, interview preparation skills and business etiquette workshops. You will then be able to apply to internship that we advertise all based within the UK. Once Placed the university will pay you a tax free bursary of over £3,000 to undertake 280 hours of work.

To be eligible you can be studying any course but must be a Home/UK first year student (Not including those in their foundation year).

In addition you need to be able to select at least ONE of the following criteria:

  • Are registered with DDS and have either a disability, dyslexia, long-term health issue or mental condition
  • Are of black/ black (other) ethnicity 
  • Come from a low-income household (under £25K)
  • Are a care leaver 
  • Are a young carer 
  • Are estranged 
  • Are a refugee
