Membership and affiliation

  • Lesley has been invited to share findings on public perceptions of plastic pollution with key members of industry, retailers, policy makers, civil servants and politicians as well as multi-disciplinary academic audiences. Recent talks include: the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Westminster and to the Plastics Europe marine litter working group (February, 2018) and invited participation at the British Plastics Federation marine litter workshop pledge event (March, July 2018) and as keynote speaker and panel member on awareness and behaviour change at key industry event Polytalk 2018  in St Julian’s (Malta). This major industry event  builds new partnerships with stakeholders to prevent marine litter globally with speakers including Karmenu Vella, European Commissioner for the Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. In July she is giving an invited talk to the London Ocean Group, Royal Geographical Society.

  • Scientific Advisor to children's awareness film on plastics pollution "Litter Things Matter" (Wastebuster CIC, 2018). This was distributed globally on World Environment Day.
