Dr Nikolaos Antypas is a Lecturer in Finance and Corporate Governance and he joined Brunel in 2017. He has a PhD in Finance from University of Reading (Henley Business School), an MSc degree in Finance from ALBA Graduate Business School, and a BA in Marketing from Athens University of Economics and Business. He has published his collaborative work on the improvements of acquisition returns due to changes in Corporate Governance in the Journal of Corporate Finance.

Dr Antypas’ research interest primarily focus on Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Governance and, CEO related issues, such as performance, turnover, and succession planning. Specifically, he has studied the shift in stock market performance of acquiring firms after the recovery from the financial crisis in 2008; his study highlights improved corporate governance as the main actor of the improved performance.
