Dr Sarmad Alshawi is a Charted Member of the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT UK) and Senior Lecturer in Procurement & Logistics Management at Brunel Business School, Brunel University, UK. He is the Course Director for the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management and Pathway Leader for the MBA in Aviation Management, and currently teaches Airport Management and Procurement Fundamentals on both programmes. Dr Alshawi maintains worldwide collaboration links with industrial organisations and government agencies with examples including Oman Aviation, Oman Air Force, Oman Logistics City, Emirates Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, British Airways, Heathrow Airport and IATA. Dr Alshawi is an active member of the Operations and Information Systems Management research group at Brunel with multi-discipline research in the areas of Procurement, Air Transport Management, e_Government, and Knowledge Management. Dr Alshawi has written in internationally refereed journals, organized conferences world-wide and has accumulated more than 100 publications. Dr Alshawi has participated in several research projects and currently is the Principle Investigator on the industry funded SMESCO project.
