Wolfson Centre for Materials Processing
The Wolfson Centre for Materials Processing at Brunel (WCBU) focuses on materials science. Established in 1987 by Professor Mike Bevis with the help of a generous grant from the Wolfson Foundation, the centre has grown to become a distinguished international centre of excellence for materials technology, attracting over £10.0 million in funding under the current Executive Director, Professor Jack Silver, since his arrival in 2006.
Around 50 academic and support staff, together with postgraduate students, associates and fellows (attached to our research programmes) work in the centre. The WCBU carries out research and development programs across a broad area of materials and has a wide range of materials processing equipment and expertise.
