Qualifications: Beng, MEng, PhD candidate

Mr Mario Kostan received a Master of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering (CGPA: 4.404 at 5.00 scale) from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb in 2013. Parallel with his masters study, he worked as a Graduate Student Researcher in INETEC – Institute for Nuclear Technology in Zagreb dealing with the design and manufacture of ultrasonic transducers.

Mario continued his work as a PhD student at Brunel University London at the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, working in the BIC-Brunel Innovation Centre. The focus of his research is on the development of high temperature ultrasonic transducers for long-term structural health monitoring of superheated steam pipes in power plants. He is a member of The Welding Institute, and in his spare time an active athlete.
