Brunel Macroeconomic Research Centre (BMRC)

BMRC has a long-standing tradition of high quality research in the areas of:

  • monetary policy including investigation of interest rate-setting behaviour of central banks and regulation of financial institutions;
  • labour market issues, including pension funds, unemployment and happiness;
  • economic growth, including analysis of productivity and the impact of demographic structures.

Research Highlights

  • BMRC members publish widely in leading academic journals and have presented recent papers at the Bank of England, the Deutsche Bundesbank, the European Central Bank and the universities of Zurich, Cambridge, Macedonia and Oxford.
     
  • The Centre’s members are frequently invited to provide expert policy advice to national and international bodies such as the World Bank and various Select Committees.
     
  • The Centre organises an annual international conference on macroeoconomics.
