The Research Centre was co-founded by Jessica Cox and Wendy Knepper in 2011. The acting chair is Catherine Meads.
Aims
The Centre aims to encourage dialogue, exchange, and innovative research in the area of gender and sexuality, both within existing areas of study as well as across disciplines. The Centre is open to scholars and students as we aim to encourage research and the exchange of ideas at all academic levels.
Research and Events
Through regular seminars and workgroups, conference events, research publications, and other knowledge transfer initiatives, we foster cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in gender and sexuality.
Student Network
There is a student committee which lead events for post-graduate and graduate students. The current student contact is Serena Volpi.
Future Directions
In the longer term, we anticipate that the Centre will lead to new avenues for research and funding as well as exchange beyond Brunel University. We intend to establish a centre for studies and foster alliances with universities in Europe and beyond.
Working Groups
Working groups enable groups of scholars with shared interests to come together to address specific research concerns. These groups are currently being established.
