The 2008 RAE placed Brunel University 37th in the country (out of 159) in terms of Research Power - a rise of 10 places from the previous RAE in 2001 where we were ranked 47th. Research Power is the market share of an institution divided by the highest ranking institution's sector market share. ie, Oxford, the highest ranking insitution, is scored 1; every other institution's market share is divided by this figure.
