4th Annual Student Research Conference 2011

You can now download the ResCon'11 Abstract book here.

ResCon'11 is the fourth annual research student conference sponsored by the School of Engineering & Design (SED) and the Graduate School. The conference organised by a committee of research students in SED and the affiliated research institutions, aims at giving research students the opportunity to practice their presentation skills and present their findings to their colleagues, academics and industrial collaborators. This year's event will consist of 3 full days of technical presentations, along with a poster session and social event. The conference will be held between the 20 – 22 June 2011 at Hamilton Centre.

The Conference boasts a wide range of researching students who attend SED and affiliated institutes based here. Eligible students from these research areas are invited to present their research to the conference in the forms of a poster or an extended abstract and an oral presentation. Students are not limited to just one of these and can choose to do both if they so wish.

Participating in this event offers students a unique chance to promote their work and interactively discuss their ideas with senior researchers, lecturers and their fellow colleagues. ResCon'11 is an event where research students can meet fellow researchers and to practice their presentation and poster skills. This will result in invaluable feedback from the judges on their presentations.

An award for the best presentation of research in each class, ie poster, extended abstract and oral presentation will be presented at the end of the conference. The awards will be a monetary donation to that student which will go towards helping fund the student to present their research at an international conference of their choosing.

All are welcome to the conference and invitations will be extended to members of industry, master’s students, all members of the School of Engineering and Design and affiliated research institutes.

All eligible research students are advised to participate in the conference, to check your eligibility please go to the abstract and poster competition page.

This is the 4th annual Research Students Conference and the ResCon'11 Committee hope it will be of benefit to all who attend and a good opportunity to advertise the University’s research efforts.
