Dr Michael Theodoridis
Lecturer in Power Systems
Michael P. Theodoridis joined Brunel University in January 2011.
He received the BSc degree in Energy Engineering from the Technological/Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens, Greece, in 2000, the MSc degree with distinction in Power Electronics and Drives jointly from the University of Birmingham and the University of Nottingham, UK, in 2002, and the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Birmingham in 2005.
From 2000 to 2001, he worked as an aircraft electronics-engineer. Between 2005 and 2010, he was with the Department of Energy Engineering at the TEI of Athens, Greece. During that period he worked on European and national educational/research projects. He is a holder of a European patent and has received Greek and UK academic awards and scholarships. He is a regular reviewer for a number of IEEE and IET journals.
His research mainly focuses on medium and high frequency Power Electronics for power supplies, active power control, induction/dielectric heating & welding, plasma generation, wireless power transfer and power management in Renewable Energy systems.
