Brief Bio Data:

Dr Manivannan received his doctorate degree (DPhil) in optical pattern recognition at department of engineering Science, university of Oxford, UK, in 1997 and his bachelor's degree {BEng (Hons)} with first class  in electrical and electronic engineering from City university, London, UK in 1994.  He then worked for Motorola, Symbian Ltd and Open Trade Technologies Ltd; mainly in Computer Modelling/ Software development for scientific applications.   He then spent some time in teaching electronics and maths at further education colleges in UK before joining Brunel University as a Researcher.

Research Interests: Numerical modelling, electron beam  plasma, microwave plasma, non-thermal plasma, microfluidics, Bioengineering, fingerprint recognition, pattern recognition, optical correlators and image processing
