Brief Bio Data:

Ruth graduated in Mechanical Engineering form the University of Dundee in 2007.  She then worked as a research assistant developing simple disinfection methods for surgical implants. She gained her PhD from the University of Dundee in 2011 for the development of polymer micro-grippers with an integrated force sensor for biological manipulation; the work was funded by an EPSRC CASE award in collaboration with IDB Tehcnologies.  In 2011 Ruth began work at Brunel University within a large team developing point of care diagnostic tests within the esti2 consortium.

Research Interests: BioMEMS (Biological Microelectromechanical Systems), microfluidics, micro-fabrication, surface characterisation, rapid prototyping, low cost diagnostics, medical devices and tissue engineering.
