Predicting Recurrence Risk of Bladder Cancer Using Neuro-Fuzzy Modelling

The objective of my research is to develop a prediction technique that predicts bladder cancer recurrence risk from pathological database of a large patients’ population with a sufficient prediction accuracy compared to other statistical and pathological techniques.

Bladder cancer recurrence occurs in more than 40% of patients following surgical tumor removal resulting in a weak response to chemotherapy. Neuro-Fuzzy modelling (NFM) will be used for prediction because of the non-linearity of input data (pathological data) and the complexity of the relationship between it and the output. The performance of the final model will be compared to other methods.
