PhD Research Title: Swarm Technology in Mobile ad-hoc Routing and Security

In complex computer networks such as ad hoc, sensor, and mesh network, the task of selecting the ideal network operating state is difficult. There are many parameters that define network state and could affect their performance. Cognitive network is one solution to improve network performance. Swarm technology is used for cognitive route selection.

There are many parameters that are challenging and affect the performance of the cognitive network. First of all, is how to exchanging information among the network. Secondly, is how to select the best forwarding node depending on both physical proximity and channel as there are many channels used in cognitive networks. Another problem with these kind of network is there security and there venerability to external attacks. Other parameters which are addressed are the selfishness of the cognitive elements and the amount of control they have over the network.
