Research on a New Generation of Gasoline Engines

Researcher: N. Kalian

Supervisors: Prof. H. Zhao, Dr. T. Ma, Prof. N. Ladommatos

Sponsors: Jaguar, EPSRC, Ford Motor Company

Objectives

  • To research and develop a new generation of gasoline engines capable of both Spark Ignition (SI) and Controlled Autoignition (CAI) operations.
  • To achieve simultaneous reductions in NOx emissions and fuel consumption (CO2 emission).
