Brunel University, in addition to its own archives, holds the archives of Maria Grey College, Shoreditch College and the British and Foreign School Society (BFSS).

The Institutional Archives chart the history of Brunel University from Acton Technical College in 1928 through Brunel College of Technology in 1957 and finally to Brunel University in 1966 and the merger with West London Institute for Higher Education in 1995.

The Collection includes committee papers, prospectuses, photographs, maps, annual reports, official papers and magazines such as Brunel News and Le Nurb.

The Royal Engineering College (RIEC) offered engineering training on the University's Runnymede campus between 1871 and 1906. The archives were housed on the campus until 1991 when they were transferred to the India Office Collections of the British Library.
