Pottery (Monday)

Classes start on 25th Apr 2016 - Every week on Monday, until 13th Jun 2016

6 weeks   (no classes on Monday 2 May & Monday 30 May)

A mixed ability class. 

Beginners will follow a series of projects including the basic techniques of pinching, coiling and slab making as well as learning to apply slips and glazes to their work.  Throwing on the wheel will also be covered in the latter part of the course.

Those with experience will be set projects or can work on their own ideas, supported by our experienced tutor.

For players of ABRSM grade 5 level and above wishing to explore the baroque repertoire.  Singers with good sight reading ability also very welcome.

The University Chamber Orchestra

Classes start on 25th Apr 2016 - Every week on Monday, until 23rd May 2016

4 week course (no class on Monday 2 May)

An ensemble that welcomes all orchestral instrumentalists of Grade 5 level and above to rehearse and perform music of all classical styles.

Sculptural Pottery

Classes start on 30th Apr 2016 - Every week on Saturday, until 28th May 2016

5 week course, suitable for all levels of ability.

A mixed ability class focussing on hand building small sculptural forms such as animals or abstract shapes. You will also learn how to use and apply underglazes.

Tutor: Maggie Jablonska  

Fee: £54 (Brunel Staff £30)  Pottery tools are available for use on the course.

Painting with Oils & Acrylics (Saturday)

4 weeks

This is an inspiring painting course designed to suit individual interests and abilities with advice on materials and techniques. The course begins by developing your core drawing & painting skills, exploring shapes and colour values in a still life; creating recession in a landscape; painting a portrait; experimenting with painting techniques and texture and learning about the traditional craft of painting.

Suitable for all levels of ability

This choir operates a fun repertoire of pop, jazz and musical theatre classics often with challenging arrangements so would suit singers with some choral experience.
