Liaison
The Academic Support team
The team provides a comprehensive range of services and support for your teaching and research needs, comprising Subject Liaison Librarians, Academic Skills (ASK) Advisors, as well as the Research / BURA Manager, and the Copyright and Digital Resources Officer. The team is managed by Lorna Mitchell, Assistant Director (Academic Support). See Contact Us.
Subject Liaison Librarians
Each School is supported by a Subject Liaison Librarian, who acts as the first point of contact between the Schools and the Library. Your Subject Liaison Librarian will be happy to provide you with an introduction to the Library and can advise you on how to make best use of Library resources. They will also ensure that your research and teaching requirements are appropriately resourced by the Library, within allocated budgets.
Academic Skills (ASK) Advisors
Academic Skills services are provided in the Library. See Academic skills.
Copyright and Digital Resources Officer
The Copyright and Digital Resources Officer provides guidance to staff and students on legal uses of Library resources and other copyright material in all aspects of learning, teaching and research. See Copyright advice.
Research / BURA Manager
The Research / BURA Manager is responsible for the provision of support and training for staff and student researchers and managing Brunel University Research Archives (BURA) and other Special Collections. See Services for Researchers.
Library Representatives and Library Services User Group (LSUG)
All Schools have designated Library Representatives, who are current members of academic staff, to act as the main link between staff in their subject area and the Library. They also serve on the Library Services User Group, a forum for strategic, policy and operational matters and provides guidance and feedback to the Library on its services. See Library Services User Group (LSUG) and Library Representatives.
