Library Representatives

Each School, or subject area within a School, has an academic “Library Representative”. The Library Representative works closely with the relevant Subject Liaison Librarian to ensure effective communication between the School and the Library. The Library Representative will usually take responsibility for channelling recommendations for book and journal purchases from the School/subject area and co-coordinating the views of staff in that School/subject on library matters. Members of academic staff wishing to raise general library matters are encouraged to contact both their Subject Liaison Librarian and their Library Representative.

Library Services User Group

The Library Services User Group meets three times a year and receives reports from library managers on the library service; provides guidance to the Library, from a user perspective, on matters of library strategy, policy, collections and services; and gives feedback on matters relating to the quality of the service.

Membership comprises one or two Library Representatives from each School, the Vice-President (Education and Welfare) of the Union of Brunel Students and up to three other representatives as nominated by UBS, representatives from the Computer Centre and the Learning and Teaching Development Unit and the Director of Library Services, Deputy Director and Assistant Director (Academic Support).
