This web page is intended to give people an overview of the main statistics that can be accessed from Brunel Library. It includes print resources, websites and specialist databases where applicable. Most of the print resources will be housed in the Statistics collection which is on floor 3 at Uxbridge, but some items may also be available on the main shelves. For full details, please check the library catalogue.Please note, this web page is not intended to be a list of everything we have, but to act as an introduction to some of the resources that you may find useful. Government data: A new site which aims to document where you can find different types of government data. However, this is a work in progress so it is by no means perfect! Still worth a look though.
General Register Office for Scotland The Scottish equivalent of the Office for National Statistics. Search by keyword, use the drop down box or browse the <statistics> section.
Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency The Northern Ireland version.
Statistics Directorate Provided by the National Assembly for Wales. Includes <StatsWales> which allows data manipulation.

European statistics page published by the European Commission.
National Statistical Offices around the world
United Nations Statistics Division Compiles statistics from many international sources. Also provides access to many print publications, although some you may need to subscribe to in order to access the online version.
Governments on the World Wide Web Contains links to Government departments, agencies, political parties etc worldwide. Please note, this site has not been updated since 2002.

HEED: Health Economics Evaluation Database: Includes over 37,000 references, with indexing covering both the costs and health effects of an intervention.
OECD Health Database: Statistics on health and health care systems for 30 OECD countries, with some time series going back to 1960. Off campus users who have difficulty accessing this database via the link should first log in via the AnyConnect VPN Universal service package available from the Connect portal, and then use the following link to the OECD Health Database.
OHE Compendium of Health Statistics: Historical data spanning up to 50 years primarily for the UK, but also includes some international comparisons. No password is required for access.
Politics and public opinion
UK: Gallup International: Public opinion polls on economic, social and political policy.
MORI: Polls and surveys conducted by MORI. Can be searched by theme (eg attitudes towards hunting) or by keyword and date. Information goes back to 1996.
YouGov: Global Public opinion, surveys attitudes to public policy.
European: Eurobarometer Polls and surveys conducted by the European Commission on key themes. Can also view surveys conducted by country. Archives back to 1974.
Social and society: Includes housing (and construction), social security

National Statistics Transport section includes all forms of public transport, statistics on road traffic accidents and also a section on transport in London.
Department for Transport This can be searched by topic and covers all forms of transport. Also provides access to recent and forthcoming statistical releases and publications
