Monday

Could you be the next Student Employee of the Year?

The 2012 search for the National Student Employee of the Year starts today! The award recognises the outstanding contribution and achievements of students who combine part-time work with study. There will be an awards ceremony for all nominated students and their employers to celebrate their success in May 2012. Visit our information on SEOTY 2012 for details of how to nominate.

11am – 3pm The Placement and Careers Centre's Employability Reps will be in the Hamilton Centre to answer your questions and tell you more about the ways we can support you in enhancing your employability.

Tuesday

11am – 3pm Employability at Brunel Services fair – Bannerman foyer and library foyer

Brunel has a strong commitment to developing the employability of each and every student throughout your time at Brunel. Alongside the work undertaken in academic schools, there are a variety of support services available in order to enable you to reach your potential and achieve success.

The Employability at Brunel mini-fair offers an opportunity for you to drop by the stand of each of these services and find out a little more about the ways in which they can work with you to make the most of your time at university and prepare you for graduate success.

Staff from each of the departments will be joined by students who use their services in the Bannerman Centre foyer to answer any questions you might have and provide information about the support they offer.

• Brunel Volunteers: Volunteering not only gives you the opportunity to gain an extensive portfolio of skills and experience, but also to make new friends and give something back to the community and Brunel Volunteers are there to help you get started
• Disability and Dyslexia Service: Offer expert advice and support to all disabled students so that they can fulfill their potential to become confident, talented and versatile graduates
• Graduate School: Supports all Brunel Postgraduates and Early Career Researchers though the provision of a comprehensive skills development programme, workshops and networking events, research prizes and 24/7 study and social facilities.
• Library's Academic Skills (ASK) service: Specialises in teaching all Brunel students the skills needed to learn independently and thrive academically.
• Placement and Careers Centre: Your one-stop-shop for advice, guidance and support when looking for work and planning your career.
