SITS Password Standards
As a result of a recent audit, the following standards of password security are to be enforced in SITS Client and eVision in order to ensure that passwords are as secure as possible:
- passwords are case-sensitive;
- a minimum password length of six characters;
- a password life of 90 days;
- passwords must be alphanumeric, i.e. must contain a mixture of numbers and letters;
- previously used passwords are not permitted.
These changes will come into effect at 5pm on Tuesday 24 January. After this time you may find that your existing password does not work in either SITS Client or eVision.
In order to prevent loss of access to these systems, please take some time to read the information below.
SITS Client:
If your existing SITS Client password no longer works, enter it again in capital letters. This should allow you to access the system.
After logging in, you must change your password to one of your choice via the PWD screen. For instructions on using the PWD screen, please see the following help sheet:

eVision:
If your existing eVision password no longer works, enter it again in capital letters. This should allow you to access the system.
If this does not work or if you have forgotten your eVision password, you can reset your password by following the instructions in this help sheet:
http://www.brunel.ac.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0013/150133/Forgotten-eVision-Password.pdf
After logging in you will be automatically prompted to enter a new password if your current password does not match the criteria above. You may also choose a new password at any time by clicking the 'Change password' link on the 'eVision | Support' page. For instructions on changing your eVision password, please see the following help sheet:
http://www.brunel.ac.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0011/150131/Changing-your-eVision-Password.pdf
Important:
If you are still unable to log in, please email sdm@brunel.ac.uk with your SITS username and state which system(s) you are unable to access. Please note that you should never give out your password through any method of communication.
In both systems your new password will be case sensitive and must adhere to the rules defined above. Your SITS Client and eVision passwords are independent of one another; changing one password will not affect the other. You may wish to choose the same password for both systems in order to prevent confusion.
Your passwords will expire after 90 days, so you may wish to set a recurring calendar appointment to remind you to change your passwords before they expire.
