SITS Data Management

SITS Data Management is responsible for the development of the University’s student records system (SITS), the reporting tool (Infoview), numerous external returns, as well as providing training and support for our varied users.

The office comprises two areas: Development and Data.

The Development side of the office focuses primarily on development and support of both the SITS client records database, as well as eVision, a user-friendly web interface powered by SITS data. This involves exploiting the generic SITS functionality and streamlining Brunel processes through the use of eVision.

One of the key responsibilities of the Data side of office is to ensure the completion of statutory external returns including student HESA and HESES, ensuring that the University receives state funding. Alongside this, the office provides data internally to senior management, administrative departments and Colleges through the Business Objects reporting package. This includes the published datasets covering areas related to annual monitoring of areas including applications, student numbers, progression and academic performance. Another primary area of reporting covers the provision of paperwork to module panels and examination boards.

The office is also responsible for the set-up and bulk processing of student administration processes including: progression of student between academic years, fee generation, processing of scholarships and student funding processes.
