In 2012 GB Paralympic athlete Stef Reid won a Silver Medal in the long jump, in a personal best of 5.28m, in front of a home crowd in London. Her training session at Brunel University co-insided with an auctioned training event, with the lucky 9 year winner based in London, it made Brunel an ideal training location.

Stefanie, who manages her life between the USA and GB takes advantage of Brunel’s superb athletics facilities to develop her programme for the 2016 Games. Stef who benefits from the support from Pro Active Prosphetics based in Surrey combines adaptations to her jumping leg with training and expects to see an improvement in performance in 2016.

Richard Ashe our Athletics Co-ordinator from the Indoor Athletics Centre ensured all arrangements were in place for Stef “having great athletes utilising Brunel facilities is superb and an inspiration to everyone. I very much hope that Stef returns in the near future, this was her firrst visit to Brunel and feedback indicates that she was impressed so every reason to believe that she will be back”.
