Athletics Performance Programme
Brunel’s Athletics has a proud history of helping to produce some of Great Britain's finest athletes who have gone on to compete at the Olympic Games.
Brunel's Olympic production line began at the London Games of 1948 with Les Lewis in the 4 x 400m relay and most recently saw Montell Douglas, Laura Turner (both 100m and 4 x 100m relay), Emma Ania (4 x 100m relay), Kelly Sotherton and Julie Hollman (both heptathlon) represent Team GB in Beijing and rising star Perri Shakes-Drayton compete over 400 hurdles in London 2012. In between those Games the University has produced a steady stream of Olympians and British Record breakers including Alan Pascoe, Kathy Smallwood-Cook, Brian Hooper and Iwan Thomas.
Brunel University's Athletics Performance Programme (APP) and Sports Scholarship Awards are comprehensive support packages for student athletes.
