Professor Rob Evans is currently involved in the organisation of a joint meeting in 2012 of IBDG with the UK’s Iron-Sulphur Group. In 2013, Rob is joint organiser, with Professor Kaila Srai from University College London, of the biennial meeting of the International BioIron Society (IBIS). The meeting will be held at University College London from 14 to 18 April 2013, and it is anticipated that about 600 scientists from around the world will attend the meeting. This series of meetings started back in 1973 at University College Hospital and the meeting in 2013 will therefore be 40 years on from the very first meeting. Rob has been fortunate to have attended every meeting since 1973.
