Brunel launches scholarship scheme for first class graduates

Brunel University is offering scholarships covering 15 percent of tuition fees to holders of first class degrees from any UK university who choose to pursue postgraduate studies at Brunel.

The offer extends to those who earned their first degrees at UK university institutions overseas. For these students, the scholarships could be worth up to £2,250 a year.

In addition, graduates who earned first degrees at Brunel are now being offered a 15 percent discount off the tuition fee for any taught postgraduate course, up from 10 percent

Occupational Therapy students take storm at Harlington Hospice

Temi and Venetia, Occupational Therapy (OT) students from Brunel University arrived at Harlington Hospice with the aim to implement aspects of OT into the service.

The Brunel International Scholarships

For 2013/14 we are please to be able to offer 30 awards, which will comprise of a 15% discount off the cost of tuition fees. These awards are open to Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research students who are classed as overseas for fee purposes.

Knowing Young People, a conference on methods for researching young people's sexuality

The day was a great success, bringing together 40 researchers and researching practitioners to discuss the ethical and methodological dilemmas of researching sensitive topics such as sexuality, with under 18 year olds, in the context of the social anxieties, judgmentality and moral panics and that seem peculiar to sexuality.

Alan Sutherland has been our Poet in Residence over the past year, funded by the Leverhulme Trust to develop an innovative approach to gaining insight into the life stories of people with disabilities. He has just completed a series of transcription poems, drawing on interviews to create rich and moving insights for Disability Arts Online.

The findings of the report on Standards We Expect, a national research and development programme, led by service-users and supported by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, were published at a launch in Westminster on May 18th, with the book Supporting People. Towards a person-centred approach.

NSS 2011: Brunel is the UK’s most improved university for student satisfaction

Brunel is the UK’s most improved university for student satisfaction, according to the National Student Survey for 2011.

The University climbed 78 places to 45th out of 141 higher education institutions, ranked by overall satisfaction rate. Out of the 22 universities in London, Brunel is now joint fifth with Imperial College and SOAS.

Measuring to Maximise Impact

This summer the Centre for Research in Rehabilitation (CRR) is running 3 day seminars with the focus on measurement and impact in clinical rehabilitative research. Three speakers will lead each day with a mixture of lectures and workshops focussed on one of each of the topics.
