Profile

Kevin studied occupational therapy part time while working in an occupational therapy service and qualified in 1993. He has worked in a range of clinical settings in mental health (general acute, elderly mentally ill in and day patient, community resource centre, forensic, work rehabilitation) and physical health (care of older people and orthopaedics). His most recent post was in forensic mental health where he combined clinical work with a practice development role. He joined Brunel University in September 2004.

Research interests

My current work is for my PhD looking at the various types of knowledge that inform occupational therapy practice in forensic mental health.

Collaborative work on two projects with Central and North West London Mental Health NHS Trust occupational therapy services, with research led by Dr Wendy Bryant

PhD research with forensic mental health services in London

Collaborative review of a preceptorship programme for nurses and occupational therapists with Dr Steve Trenoweth of Thames Valley University and West London Mental Health NHS Trust
