CCP REPORTS
Ways of Seeing Evaluation
This report summarises the evaluation of Ways of Seeing, a community arts project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and hosted by the Lightbox, Woking, Surrey from 2008-11. The project was skilfully designed and led to enable disabled people to make a significant contribution, enhancing their well-being and resulting in Ways of Seeing, a major public art exhibition which was widely appreciated. The exhibition was innovative and thought-provoking, challenging assumptions about mental health and promoting the benefits of participation. The willingness of the Lightbox to host and support the project was essential. Based on tolerance, respect and a sympathetic curiosity, with clear and skilled leadership, the project enabled participants to make significant changes in their own lives.

Living with Psychosis
Living with Psychosis: a report on research involving service users, with a foreword by Will Self. This research was designed to find out what is helpful and demystify psychosis. The people involved had personal experience of psychosis and discussed what to do, the importance of talking to others and not avoiding problems. Many people agreed that finding ongoing skilled help was important, to feel safe and more receptive when unwell. The findings suggest that services should give priority to understanding individual experiences of psychosis, so support can be more effective and focused on practical problems in life.
"I commend this careful and unostentatious study to you" Will Self.
