Centre for Professional Practice (CPPR)

The aim of the Centre is to excel in professional practice research to support and empower students, academics, clinicians and service users to promote high standards in clinical practice in the disciplines of occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work and nursing through the application of best evidence and by bridging the theory-practice divide. The focus of the Centre is to build upon expertise in professional practice research and support new research in practice. 

The Centres contributes to enhancing evidence in practice by working in partnership with practitioners and service users to evaluate and promote best practice. Its primary aim is to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the provision of interventions and services in practice. The Centre provides support and expertise for colleagues in practice undertaking research by “working alongside” them during research design, process and publication or presentation.
