Problem:

This consultancy work was undertaken for a small financial
software start-up who had grown in size from a handful of
founders to a staff of 30 people. The company wanted help
to better align their highly specialised software infrastructure
product with the investment banking marketplace. In order
to achieve this they wanted to improve their understanding of
the business and technology architecture within a typical global
investment bank, in order to further develop, position and
market their products.

Approach:

We produced a number of scenarios that could be addressed by
the software in an innovative way – each targeting a different
banking division. The software itself was further developed to
meet these scenarios and a number of demonstrators were built.
We then helped to produce the marketing material that clearly
presented the product in use.

Outcomes:

The outcome was a better understanding of how the software
is able to impact on all IS stakeholders within the banking
marketplace. A clearer targeting and understanding of the
market helped the company to focus more on the customer and
the benefits they could gain from its software, as well as a more
parallelised service-oriented business processing and control
environment.
