The Department of Mathematical Sciences is committed to excellence in research and teaching.  In the 2011 National Student Survey, the department was ranked 10th in the UK (and second in London) in overall student satisfaction We are a vibrant and friendly department for undergraduate, postgraduate and research students with a well established reputation for student achievement and success.

Academic staff are internationally recognised for their high quality research output in a number of areas of modern mathematics. Within our active teaching and research environment there are many postgraduate research opportunities, and our research degrees are highly successful at providing state of the art preparation for future successful career opportunities.

EPSRC doctoral studentships are available for deserving candidates for doctoral studies in mathematical sciences at Brunel. The studentship covers fees as well as a bursary for UK citizens and fees only for EU citizens.
