Dr Aleksey Pichugin wins prize at World Congress

Dr Aleksey Pichugin, one of our mathematics lecturers, has won a prize at the World Congress on Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization. Dr Pichugin’s paper, written in collaboration with Drs Andy Tyas and Matthew Gilbert from the University of Sheffield, described a new type of optimal structure for a uniform load over multiple spans.
