The Social Work Division is well represented in the annual nominations for the Student-Led Teaching Awards (STLAs). Joe Hanley has been nominated in the ‘Tutor of the Year’ category, with students highlighting Joe’s willingness to help students out when they felt unsure about their work, giving helpful and detailed guidance and keeping an eye on his tutees’ progress.
Also in the Social Work Division, Mike Thomas has been nominated in the ‘Lecturer of the Year’ category. In their nomination, students singled out Mike’s use of a range of teaching methods and activities, provision of constructive and supportive feedback and commitment to evidence-based teaching.
On behalf of the whole academic team, Mike and Joe extend their thanks to students for recognising the Social Work Division’s commitment to teaching and learning.
