Our staff have a wide range of professional, subject and disciplinary backgrounds in the three pathways of Health Visiting, Occupational Health Nursing and School Nursing providing particular teaching and research expertise to our students.
This expertise is applicable to many aspects of the population’s health and well-being in order to meet the statutory and professional requirements of improving and protecting health across the life course.
We offer post-registration courses through sponsorship with the National Health Service and Employers at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These programmes assist the professional development of specialist practitioners as part of the public health workforce.
Our programme includes:

- Stimulation of awareness of health needs
- Influence on policies affecting health
- Facilitation of health enhancing activities.
Staff research outputs reflect our experience and include work on breast cancer, mental health and workplace health.
