As an undergraduate sports sciences student you can opt for a sandwich course where you'll gain work experience on a placement with one of our partner organisations. We have strong links with sports personnel and organisations in the UK and worldwide.
Our current students are working at many different companies in the UK and overseas including Queens Park Rangers and Chelsea Football Club, the London Sports Trust and Quiksilver.
We work closely with our award-winning Professional Development Centre to offer a broad range of opportunities for you to enhance your employment prospects.
As a future employee you will need to equip yourself with both specific sport sciences knowledge and a range of more generic skills which are valued in the workplace. During your time with us we'll help you to develop a ‘personal development profile’, which helps you to identify and work towards your specific needs and career goals.
By the end of your time with us you’ll be ready to focus on a sport-related career such as:
- fitness testing and training
- sport development
- sport management
- teaching and youth work
- or go on to higher education and research.
Our graduates have found positions with the UK and regional Sports Councils, national governing bodies for sport, international organisations, sports clothing companies, professional sport clubs and local authorities.
95% of our graduates go on to work and/or study six months after finishing the course (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education 2015/16)
Undergraduate study can also prepare you for PGCert (Education) courses and masters degrees.
