Curriculum Adaptations and Educational Interventions (CAEI)

CAEI, which incorporates the Brunel Able Children’s Education Centre (BACE), aims to conduct innovative and high quality research into the most effective ways of educating children. The research generated is informed by cutting-edge theory and international research. The core activities fall into three interrelated strands:
  • Effective curriculum provision through specific adaptations and interventions in Mathematics, English, ICT and Science;
  • Enhancing the quality of learning through pedagogical approaches: assessment, early years, critical thinking and encouraging children to be researchers;
  • Ways of identifying and fulfilling talent of special educational groups such as children with high potential in inner-city areas of social deprivation and early years’ children aged 4-7 years old and the design of effective interventions.
