Recent Research Grants

Congratulations to Professor Valsa Koshy who has just secured a £170,000 research grant from the Moody's Foundation (New York, USA) for an intervention in an urban context. Valsa and her team will be focusing on aspects of social mobility and the promotion of social justice.

Congratulations also go to Professor José Gonzalez-Alonso has recently secured a grant of £129,369 from PepsiCo Inc. to investigate whether dehydration and hyperthermia compromise brain and muscle blood flow during exhaustive exercise. Professor Gonzalez-Alonso has also been invited to join the REF sub-panel for Sport and Exercise Sciences, Leisure and Tourism.

Dr Dawn Leslie has received funding of approximately £125k from an EPSRC First Grant for a project entitled 'Development of Practical Ionising Radiation Detectors and Dosimeters based on Quantum Dots'. Dr Leslie has also just secured a £5,000 grant as a co-investigator from the Science and Technology Facilities Council for an outreach project entitled 'Girls Allowed! Why Women Should Study Physics'. 

Dr Pascale Kippelen has been awarded £20,000 from WADA to fund her project beta2-agonists. These funds have been awarded to Pascale and colleagues from Montpellier to carry out two studies: one in relation to asthma detection and the other on airway epithelial damages.
