PRIZES

We would like to congratulate LEIGHTON JONES, PhD researcher in Sport Psychology, for winning a prize in the Post-Graduate Research Student Poster Competition organised by the Graduate School in March 2011. Leighton’s poster was acknowledged with an “honourable mention” from Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, Professor Geoff Rodgers, at the prize giving ceremony.

LEIGHTON JONES, PhD reseacher in Sport Psychology, won a Vice Chancellors (VCs) Travel Prize of £500 to travel to an international conference relating to his area of research.

On 3 March, CHRISTOPHER WEST, PhD Researcher in Physiology won the "Best Poster" award at the 7th Annual Paralympics GB Sport Science, Sports Medicine and Coaching Conference at Loughborough University. The title of Chris's poster was 'The Effects of Inspiratory Muscle Training in Athletes with Cervical Spinal Cord Injury'.

PRIZE WINNERS

DANIELLE ADAMS, PhD Researcher in Sport Psychology, and ERIC STOHR, PhD Researcher in Cardiovascular Physiology, won the Vice Chancellors' (VCs) Travel Prize of £500 each to support their attendance at international conferences relating to their respective fields of research.

STUART GOODALL, PhD Researcher in Exercise Physiology, won 3rd prize for his oral poster presentation at the European College of Sport Science (ECSS) Conference in Turkey. A prize of €2,000 and an invitation to present at an international conference in Tokyo was awarded.
