About Paul

Paul combines his role as Director of the Canterbury Christ Church University campus in Broadstairs with his part time PhD studies which he began in January 2009.  Paul is researching classroom ecology in primary school physical education under the supervision of Professor Susan Capel and Professor Tess Kay.

He joined the Physical Education team at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2001 as a senior lecturer and teacher educator and has since led a number of programme developments including becoming the first Programme Director for the Physical Education and Sport & Exercise Science degree programme.  In 2009, Paul became the University's first Director of Partnership and Widening Participation before moving into his current role.

Paul retains a keen interest in Physical Education and Sport and still lectures on undergraduate programmes and supervising student research.  He is an active member of the Kent 20in12 Olympic and Paralympic Learning Programme Executive group and is the Head Coach for the Hythe Stars and Stripes Junior Football Club.
