Respiratory Specialists Involved in Wellcome Trust Funded Project

Monday 14 November 2011

Drs Pascale Kippelen and Lee Romer have recently been involved in a project jointly funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Arts Council England.

The Invisible Dust project included a number workshops and public art installations aiming to highlight the effects of air pollution on our health and environment.

Pascale and Lee were first involved in an education workshop which the Centre put on for around 30 London based school children. The workshop involved teaching these children about the respiratory system and exercise-induced asthma. It culminated in them running lung function tests on the children and their teachers. For the second part of the project they were interviewed for a short film which can be seen here and has been shown every day for two weeks at the View Tube in London. The film was premiered on a larger outdoor projector, with the London 2012 Olympic Stadium as its backdrop, in front of over 500 people. Click here for further information.
