Personal Biography
Professor Guy S. Liu obtained his PhD at Oxford University in 1997. He was a researcher officer at Institute of Economics and Statistics at University of Oxford between 1989 and 1993. He went to Liverpool University in 1987 as his first place in the UK to start his postgraduate study.
Research
Research Overview
My current research interest focuses, first, on industrial organisation with respect to mergers and acquisition, company performance, market structure and competition evaluation; secondly, on financial economics with respect to comparative study of corporate governance, ownership structure and its impact on performance, bank performance evaluation, life insurance industry, financial market and industrial growth; thirdly, on Chinese industry development and enterprise reform, and fourthly, on energy economics with respect to electricity industry.
