Personal Biography
Professor Campos received his PhD from the University of Southern California in 1997. Since 2005, he is Professor of Economics and Finance at Brunel University (West London). He is currently seconded to the Office of the Chief Economist of the UK’s Department for International Development as a Senior Economics Advisor. Previously he was a Reader and Lecturer (Associate and tenured Assistant Professor, respectively) at the University of Newcastle and Assistant Professor at CERGE-EI (Prague). He has held visiting research and teaching posts at Johns Hopkins (Fulbright Fellow), Michigan, The World Bank (Robert McNamara Fellow), IMF, USC, UCL, Bonn, Central Bank of Finland (BOFIT), European Commission, and Oxford (CBS Fellow).Research
Research Overview
Prof Campos’ research interests are in the areas of economic growth, political economy, financial liberalization and labour economics. He is a member of the Brunel Macroeconomics Research Centre (BMRC) and Centre for Economic Development and Institutions (CEDI).
