Politics and History

We have a growing Department with committed staff, a diverse community, and innovative programmes in contemporary politics and history. Our research was ranked in the top third of UK universities in the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008).

History is ranked 10th out of 101 and Politics is ranked 18th out of 75 in the Sunday Times League Tables 2013. Our students have rated us highly in the National Student Survey 2012, with History achieving 100% overall student satisfaction. Politics and International Studies is ranked in the elite top 200 in the QS World Rankings.
