Brunel University Politics Society

Representing Politics and History Undergraduates!

The Brunel University Politics Society was re-established in 2009 by the students for the students. Affectionately known as BUPS the society has a post-partisan approach to collaboration and ideology. We invite representatives of the main political parties, academics and journalists to attend our meetings in Brunel. Furthermore, we organise politically related activities such as visits to Prime Ministers Questions, European Parliament and contemporary lectures. Finally, integral to the society's success is it's socials which bring together all the Politics students across the years. These socials provide you with the opportunity to meet like minded students away from the lecture room.  Find our page on facebook to see what our students talk about. It is a good place for prospective students to ask questions directly to current students.

This page contains content produced by BUPS members. It is our official outside face to the world, and is not controlled by the Politics & History Department, who kindly publish the material for us.

BUPS is also the vehicle for Politics students' representation to the Department staff.  We elect, in open and free elections, those who will represent us at Student-Staff Liaison Committee and in general.

The four tenets of BUPS:
  • Hold free and fair discussion on contemporary political issues.
  • Provide mainstream political party representation at Brunel university.
  • Organise awesome socials that include everyone.
  • Finally to give students an outlet to prove we are not as apathetic as the media portrays us to be.
